  • Personally, I'm glad that this incident makes people think about the hateful, violence-inciting rhetoric spewed by politicians and pundits, especially people such as Palin, Rush L., and others. Our political process and government have practically come to a halt over this practice.

  • Taxpayers should not have to pay for this spill. The more I read about it, the more I conclude that the explosion resulted from shortcuts taken by BP that were not the normal, best-practice procedures. Though I'm not an expert, I've worked in the oil industry and know a few things about it.

  • I note a lot of skepticism in many of the other comments, but most people who keep parrots know to do everything they can, to keep their birds from becoming depressed.

  • No kidding. I want to be able to choose whether to have horrible constant pain or risk becoming addicted to the drugs that control it. The possibility of addiction is probably the major problem with pain pills, if taken as prescribed, and this only happens to a small percentage of people.

  • Yeah, pot works great for nerve pain. But what about those of us who hate the effects of pot and don't want to use it?

  • People probably overdose themselves on Darvocet because they are very weak pills and do not work very well, so people in pain probably take more than are prescribed. My own chronic pain does not respond to Darvocet nor to any OTC drugs, and especially not Tylenol.

  • Yes, as others suggest -- just lower the dose of Tylenol in Percocet and Vicodin. I have chronic pain that severely limits my activities unless I take prescription pain pills. I am very worried about government intervention in these areas.
